Remembrance Sunday Uckfield; Uckfield guide is to be lit on Sunday, November 11, to check a long time since the part of the World War 1.
It will be one of in excess of 1,000 guides being lit the nation over as a component of the WW1 Beacons of Light activity symbolizing a conclusion to the obscurity of war and an arrival to the light of harmony.
All are welcome to go to the occasion at Victoria Pleasure Ground. The Last Post will be sounded at 6.55pm and the reference point lit at 7pm. After five minutes the chimes of Holy Cross church will ring out joining in excess of 1,000 houses of God and places of worship in a festival of harmony.
10am Officers from the eleventh Signals Regiment, 5 Squadron, Maresfield, will walk through Maresfield Park to St Bartholomew’s Church, Maresfield to partake in an administration of Remembrance which starts at 10.30am. .
10.45am Ceremony at the Eugene Seghers remembrance in the grounds of the Highlands Inn. Eugene Seghers was a Belgian pilot who kicked the bucket when a V1 flying bomb exploded as he controlled it away from slamming on Uckfield.
11am Two minutes quiet will be begun and wrapped up by the discharging of maroons at Uckfield Civic Center.
2.30pm Remembrance march by nearby formally dressed gatherings up Uckfield High Street to Holy Cross Church.
3pm Service of Remembrance at Holy Cross Church, trailed by wreath-laying, and a procession back to Uckfield Civic Center.
