Tributes were held at war burial grounds in Belgium and France, and around the globe – a previous Gurkha fighter planted a poppy tribute over a 20,000ft mountain, and pictures of poppies were shot onto the sails of Sydney’s Opera House.
It was the day Britain – and the world – stopped to recall their war dead. At many war commemorations, around the local area and urban areas and on previous fields of fight, individuals met up on Remembrance Sunday to pay individual tribute to the individuals who made a definitive penance.
