Halloween Express moving to South Belt
Halloween Express The seasonal store is moving to 601 S. Belt Highway, the former home of Payless ShoeSource. Halloween Express had been located at 5323 Rochester Road for eight years, sharing the space with Border War Fireworks.
Halloween Express will open in a new location this year.
Josh Joseph, owner of both businesses, said it was time the St. Joseph Halloween Express store got its own home.
“Instead of transitioning our firework store to the Halloween (store) and Halloween back to fireworks, we thought it might be easier just to move to a location on the Belt and see how it goes this year,” Joseph said. “Hopefully it accommodates more folks in the city.”
The building also offers more floor space at close to 10,000 square feet, up from 7,500. Products include Halloween costumes, makeup, wigs, accessories and decorations.
“There’s been a lot of remakes of the movies from past years, so I think that’s going to be a big hit this year, as far as Disney movies and things like that go,” Joseph said of this year’s Halloween trends.
