It’s true: the Black Friday shopping experience is going to look a little different this year. In fact, big retailers like Target have announced plans to keep stores closed on Thanksgiving Day, which is a huge break in tradition for early Black Friday shoppers. That said, deals are not canceled — in fact, we can probably expect online Black Friday sales to be bigger (and better) than ever.

Still, people want to know if they can visit stores in-person this year, which is kind of a tricky question. Since a possible second wave of the coronavirus is expected to happen, most retailers are keeping quiet about whether or not doors will remain open on the holiday as no one knows what to expect in the upcoming months.

Amidst the silence however, some stores like Walmart have released vague statements that say, “Black Friday hours will be shared at a later date.” Plus, some chains have already reopened through the pandemic, so stores might resume on the holiday, too. If this does happen, just make sure to social distance and wear a mask when shopping.
