Valentine’s Day is often associated with hearts and sugar, and it’s a great impetus to talk with kiddos about their friends and families.

It’s also a good time to integrate fun, meaningful learning activities into the classroom and at home.

Literacy Valentine Activities

Make a fine motor valentine craft with pony beads, letter beads, and pipe cleaners. My students have loved making this, so I think you should definitely add it to your list of valentine activities for preschoolers!

Well, let’s be honest here . . . every time is a good time for math! At least in my own personal opinion.

Valentine’s Day Snack for Preschoolers

Bake some heart-shaped brownies with the children, and then get the kids to help set up a you’ve been hugged valentine surprise It’s such fun to watch the children determine who should get the special delivery.

Make a special treat with marshmallows and colorful sprinkles. This is a very basic “cooking” activity that my son and his friends loved. Integrate literacy with a written “recipe”, while math can be practiced while counting and measuring.

Valentine’s Day provides a lot of opportunities for your little scientists!

Valentine’s Day Art and Crafts

This heart print art is probably my favorite valentine art project for preschoolers. The children loved making the prints and displaying them around the classroom.

Fun Valentine’s Day Party Games for Kids

As a kid, I loved classroom Valentine’s Day parties! There were so many fun games and treats to enjoy, but my favorite part was the Valentine’s Day party games we used to play.

As a kid, this was by far my favorite part, because I got the chance to do something besides schoolwork and have fun with my other classmates. If you are trying to plan a fun Valentine’s Day party for your little ones, then I urge you to consider creating some Valentine’s Day party games.
